Turn a won deal into a project
Create a project from a won opportunity and retain the links to its company and deal.
Before you start
Start with a saved deal and confirm that it is associated with the correct company. You will review a project form before creating the delivery project. Notes remain available through the client relationship; do not assume every deal field becomes a project field.
Win the deal
- Open Clients → Deals and find the opportunity.
- Move it to Won, or the workspace’s equivalent won stage.
- Use the Start a project follow-up offered after the change.
Create the linked project
- Review the proposed project name and the linked deal and company.
- Check the team and other project details before submitting the form.
- Create the project when you are ready to start delivery.
The form is seeded from the deal name, deal link, company, and the company’s team where available. It does not generate a complete delivery plan for you.
Check the connection
- Open the resulting project and confirm its company and deal links.
- Return to the company page and check that the project appears with related work.
- Add the first issues and owners using the project planning guide.
If you need to make changes
If you dismissed the follow-up, open the deal’s form and use its project action. Check existing linked projects first to avoid accidentally creating another project for the same engagement.
Moving a deal to another company updates its linked projects. Review those relationships before making the change, particularly if work is already underway.
